Children’s Program Manager Learn More Button

Children’s Program Manager Position Description:

Nestled on 11,000 acres in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Wintergreen Resort, Virginia’s premier four-season mountain-top vacation and conference destination, seeks a Children’s Program Manager for its nationally recognized summer and winter children’s programs at the Treehouse. The Children’s Program Manager will develop and implement the programs, organize the operational flow of registration and activities, help create and manage to the budget, and direct all aspects of the Treehouse childcare program and children’s ski school operation. Staff recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling, motivation and development are key responsibilities of this position, as are supervising children’s ski instructors, assisting in ski instruction, and ensuring that the programs, staff, and facility are in full compliance with licensing and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will balance effectively the creative direction and business success of the programs to offer memorable experiences to the children and their parents through finely-tuned activities with positive financial results. The abilities to organize, work independently, think creatively, and deploy high levels of business acumen are necessary to succeed in this position. Other attributes include enthusiasm, high-energy, a passion for working with children, and the ability to make it easy for staff and participants to have fun while maintaining a keen focus on operational excellence. Candidates must meet current Program Director qualifications as defined by the Virginia Department of Social Services, and have a minimum of 2 years programmatic experience with one year in a supervisory role. A bachelor’s degree in a child-related field is preferred, and first Aid/CPR training is required, along with effective leadership and business management skills, and recreation and education experience. Level 1 ski instructor certification is a plus. This position involves working weekends and holidays, lifting up to 50 pounds, and constant movement preparing for and during programs. Wintergreen offers competitive pay and benefits for this 10 month annual position. Public Areas

Janitor

Janitor Position Description:

Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of all public areas including but not limited to restaurants, stairwells, walkways, restrooms, windows, snow removal and all other areas as designated by the Public Area Manager. Must be capable of doing janitorial work which may involve heavy or extensive physical labor. Must be capable of lifting 50 to 100 lbs and able to work in outdoor, extreme conditions. I.E. ice, sleet, snow etc. Will need to assist in all snow removal operations and be capable of working with cleaning chemicals and equipment. 4pm- 12am shift must be able to work weekends.

Driver (part-time) Position Description:

Provides safe reliable transportation and assists with the range of transportation services offered for guests. Must be able to sit in a vehicle for long periods of time. Good customer service and communication skills required. Must have valid driver's license and clean MVR. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
